Rustic Rose came together in 2021 while its founders were working refinery jobs in Corpus Christi. Five years on it’s a six-piece out of Mercedes with an original catalogue, a radio single and a sound built on both sides of the Valley’s musical border.

Rosendo “Chendo” Tienda
Weslaco-raised, weaned on Hendrix and Stevie Ray, then on Freddy Fender and Country Roland. He writes the songs and fronts the band.
José Ángel Torres
The reason the band can turn a country set into a Tejano set without changing players.

The bajo sexto underneath a Texas country rhythm section — the sound nobody else in the Valley is making.
Sam De Los Santos
Holds the bottom end together across both halves of the set.

We travel with our own front-of-house engineer. That is not normal at this level, and it is why the show sounds the same in a dance hall as it does on a festival stage.
